Never Stop Dreaming

I have a very distinct memory of the fist time a Coldplay song brought a tear to my eye, and they weren’t the ones performing.

I remember my Grandmother was visiting my family in the states as she hails from Bath, England. It was a cold wet January where we as a family we’re trying to find something to watch as a whole. With a background in music, I suggested the “Young at Heart” documentary that was trending worldwide. Knowing my Mother and sisters are suckers for a good happy cry, the rise of a New England elderly choir group ‘Young at Heart’ was a perfect afternoon family watch. It’s moments like these that show you the power of music. Coldplay was really only starting to take off with international success, but having the story told through the eyes of these veteran performers, truly shows you the power of love, life, and the journey we’re all on.

News broke over the weekend that Coldplay will be releasing a documentary on November 14th, chronicling their 20 year tenure as a band called “A Head Full of Dreams”. 1998 was 20 years ago folks, just let that sink in. Seven studio albums, and countless collaborations later, Coldplay is arguably one of the most successful bands of that two decade span. Unfortunately I’ve only been able to see them perform live once, but they were without a doubt the greatest show I’ve ever been apart of. I doubt I’ll ever be involved in something like that again, where I got to sing along with such passion and dedication as a whole audience. The only person I’d put ahead of Christ Martin in terms of stage presence and showmanship, is the late great Freddie Mercury of Queen.

So all and all, what I’m trying to say here is, I’ll see you November 14th. Not only is every Coldplay album filled with gut wrenching stories of love, loss, victory, and the gambit of life’s emotions, but on a visual scale, Coldplay is second to none. I can’t wait to see the roars of color that this band attach to every story and performance. Now just so you know, if you’re unable to make it to theaters on November 14th, the movie will be released to Amazon Prime Video on November 16th. But with this one night in theaters it gives fans the opportunity to listen at a noise level that won’t anger their neighbors and be in contention for award season. Here’s to more Coldplay and long life of following our dreams.
