All Oscar Categories to Air Live After Hollywood Protest

This year’s Oscars has been riddled with controversy. Kevin Hart was hosting, then he wasn’t. The show was looking for a host, then they weren’t. Now they have a new controversy. In an effort to shorten the length of the show, the Academy made the decision to give out four awards during the commercial breaks. The categories of the awards were: cinematography, film editing, live action short and makeup and hairstyling. The Academy was surprised about how much backlash the received over the decision to air these four awards during the commercial breaks as Academy members voted to approve the decision in August. Keeping these four awards in the show will now make the show run longer than 3 hours. The Academy was trying to get the show cut down to 3 hours. The Oscars air Sunday, February 24th.
