Schitt’s Creek Has Been Renewed For A 6th And Final Season

Schitt’s Creek has just announced that it will come to an end soon.
I’m am heartbroken, and yet grateful to share this news, because it means you might actually watch it now!

SCHITT’s CREEK is a Canadian television sitcom created by  and starring Daniel Levy with his comedy genius actor father Eugene Levy. The story is about the wealthy Rose family. Johnny (Eugene Levy), his wife and former soap opera actress Moira (Catherine O’Hara), and their adult children David and Alexis (Daniel Levy and Annie Murphy), lose their fortune after being defrauded by their business manager. They are forced to rebuild their lives with their sole remaining asset: a small town named Schitt’s Creek, which they had bought their son as a joke birthday gift back in 1991. It’s my favorite for a multitude of reasons, but it starts out very subtle. You will either immediately love it, or eventually be addicted to it. You can NOT escape the love of this show!

The comedy will have one more season on Pop and CBC. There will be 14 final episodes. I started watching it on NETFLIX, and gorge 3 seasons with my husband in less than one month. Then, we couldn’t wait, so we bought season 4 and will soon stream all of season 5, which just ended this week.

From CBC.CA:

The Levys also play father and son on the sitcom, alongside Catherine O’Hara as the mother and Annie Murphy as the daughter of the Rose family, who lost their fortune due to a shady business manager and now live in a motel in a small town the dad bought as a joke years ago. Each character has carved out a niche in the town over the years, providing nuance and a joyful spirit that has helped Schitt’s Creek grow in popularity from season to season.

The show has spawned a live tour with sold-out audiences in Canada and the U.S., won several Canadian Screen Awards.

And, if you haven’t already become obsessed with the amazingly good looking, and very talented Dan Levy yet, here is a small sample of him with costar.
