Delivery apps are a modern marvel, allowing customers to get foods dropped at the door without having to yell orders over the phone.

But what if you would like the sit-down restaurant experience but are lacking the time to wait for the meal’s preparation?

Uber Eats has a solution; quietly testing a feature that lets users in some markets have the dish waiting on the table inside the establishment.

According to Eater, the “Dine-in” option doesn’t cost the diner more, while charging the restaurant a lower fee than what they pay for delivery.

“We want to enable restaurants to focus on what they’re best at — making amazing food and providing top-notch service,” an Uber spokesperson told Eater in a statement, “By allowing customers to order and pay in the app, we streamline the experience for both the customers and the restaurant.” An FAQ page for the service notes that you can order your meal to be ready as soon as possible, or else schedule a time for your meal to be ready by. You’ll be sent notifications about the status of your order, and then it’s up to you to transport yourself to the restaurant to eat.

Does this sound like a feature that could help you? What would this mean for restaurant servers?

Uber says that restaurants get 100 percent of the tips from Uber Eats, which can be given either in person or through the app.
