Amazon Robots Will Soon Deliver To You

The day is coming, maybe even in the near future, that a robot delivers your Amazon package to your door. Do not be alarmed.

It started in Seattle earlier this year, and now some Southern California residents are already experiencing this, as test bots have been sent out on deliveries in Irvine, California.

And yes, for those of you wondering, the bot does have a name. They are calling the six-wheeled robot Scout, light blue in color and about the size of a smaller cooler. Scout is currently testing its skills, including maneuvering around pedestrians and trash cans.

Many Prime members already have questions, as do I.

What about weather conditions? Residents in California may not have to deal with inches of snow and ice, but in Illinois we do. Is a robot really going to be able to bring my packages to my door in 4 inches of snow?

I suppose this is why the test bots are being sent out so they can gather research, problem is the bots are going to face many issues in other states that they won’t face in California, so is the research going to be fool proof? Probably not.

How long do you think it will take before the Amazon bots are seen in big cities nationwide?
