Carson is a college football fan who held up a sign on national TV asking for beer money, but instead ended up with thousands of dollars that he is donating to a children’s hospital.

Carson was joking with his buddies when he held up the sign asking for beer money during ESPN’s “College GameDay” taping last weekend. He even added his Venmo account in hopes that at least one random person might throw him $20.

“Busch Light Supply Needs Replenished…Venmo Carson-King-25”
And guess what people did! LOTS of people actually.
His phone started going off and suddenly he had $100, then $400, then $600, then $2000. All for beer! That’s when he knew he had to do something special with the money. He talked with his mom and decided to donate the money to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, which is right by the football stadium.
But it gets even better, the money kept coming in, and as of Wednesday morning a total of 34,000 had been donated. That’s when both Venmo and Busch Light stepped up and promised to MATCH the 34,000.

So, now Carson gets to hand over a check to the children’s hospital for almost $100,000, minus the cost of a case of beer.
All because one college football fan wanted to see if he could get someone to buy him beer on national TV.
Ellen!!! How about Carson as an upcoming guest???

What have you done for beer money?

In college I sold my flute so I could have money to go out with my friends. Definitely wasn’t worth the $40 I got from the pawn shop, but I learned my lesson. My story is boring compared to 24 year old Carson King.
