It’s been a great year for so many in pop music, and that means incredible honors from Billboard Magazine, who just named Taylor Swift their “2019 Woman Of The Decade,” and 17 year old Billie Eilish their “2019 Woman Of The Year!”

Billie was introduced by Cyndi Lauper who says she can’t handle how incredible Billie is. When Billie accepted her award, she referenced Taylor Swift, who was named Woman Of the Year in 2014, where she talked about the next generation of female musicians and how we need to take care of them, “Somewhere right now, your future woman of the year is probably sitting in a piano lesson or in a girls’ choir, and today, right now, we need to take care of her.”

Turns out, Billie was doing just that. In her speech she said, “I was 11 at the time, and I was in a choir, and I was learning to play piano. You took care of me, so thank you.”

Obviously, it’s been quite a year for Taylor as well, she just released her 7th studio album, Lover, was named “Artist Of the Decade” at the American Music Awards AND made history with more AMA’s than any other artist including Michael Jackson, not to mention the highly anticipated Cats movie. She has also been in the press quite a bit with her fight over the rights to her music. She definitely didn’t hold anything back with her empowering speech for Billboard’s Woman Of The Decade.
