CLOSINGS & CANCELLATIONS updated 1/23/2024

Parking Bans

  • City of Bloomington will enact a Snow Route Parking Ban starting at 9:00 am on Monday, January 22, 2024, that will be in effect until 7:00 am Tuesday, January 23, 2024. This is a city-wide street parking ban to allow Public Works Crews to salt and maintain City roadways.

Schools

  • Bloom Community School is closed — Tuesday, Jan. 23 — due to winter weather and poor road conditions
  • Blue Ridge CUSD #18 student will have an e-learning day Tuesday, Jan. 23
  • Calvary Christian Academy will be closed January 23rd due to anticipated hazardous road conditions. A decision will be made regarding after-school practices and games by 2pm Tuesday afternoon.
  • Central Catholic High School classes and after-school activities for Tuesday, January 23 are canceled
  • Clinton CUSD #15 there will be no school Tuesday, January 23rd
  • Cornerstone Christian Academy (Bloomington) will be closed (1/23/24).
  • DeLand-Weldon CUSD 57 will have an e-learning day on January 23, 2024
  • District 87 will be using a remote learning day, Tuesday Jan. 23rd due to continued ice accumulation and persistent hazardous road conditions.
  • El Paso-Gridley CUSD #11 students will be utilizing an e-learning day
  • Fieldcrest CUSD #6 Tuesday, January 23, 2024 will be an E-Learning Day
  • Heyworth School District due to anticipated travel conditions, Heyworth students will be learning remotely January 23rd. There will be no in-person learning.
  • Heartland Community College All HCC locations will have a delayed start of 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January, 23
  • Illinois State University will open at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 23. This continued closure will provide extended time for crews to safely clear roads and campus grounds.
  • Illinois Wesleyan University will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23. All classes and activities are canceled and offices are closed before this time.
  • LeRoy School District no classes, Tuesday Jan. 23 due to inclement weather.
  • Lexington CUSD #7 students will have an E-Learning day Tuesday, Jan. 23
  • McLean County Unit 5 schools will have an E-Learning Day on Tuesday, Jan. 23, due to anticipated hazardous road conditions. Students should NOT report to school in person but WILL have classes online. Go to www.unit5.org for more information.
  • Odell School District will use e-learning Tuesday, Jan 23
  • Olympia School District students will have remote learning for Tuesday, January 23rd due to the forecasted ice.
  • Pontiac District 90 will be E-Learning on Tuesday, January 23
  • Prairie Central CUSD #8 schools will be closed Tuesday January 23rd
  • Ridgeview CUSD 19 no classes Tuesday, Jan. 23. This will be a traditional Snow Day.
  • Thomas Metcalf School will be closed today, January 23, 2024, due to freezing rain and icy weather.
  • Trinity Lutheran School Bloomington is canceling classes, Tuesday, January 23, due to hazardous travel.
  • Tri-Valley School District students will have an E-learning day Tuesday, Jan. 23
  • University High School will be closed today, January 23, 2024, due to freezing rain and icy weather.
  • Wesley’s Bright Beginnings Preschool (Bloomington) closed Tuesday, Jan. 23

Other

  • Faith in Action of Bloomington will delay opening until 11 am due to winter weather conditions 
  • Lifelong Access (formerly Marcfirst) programs are closed Tuesday, January 23rd due to weather
  • Normal Public Library will open at 11 am on Tuesday, Jan. 23 due to the icy conditions.
  • The Center for Human Services 108 W. Market St. BLM will open at 10:00 AM 1/23/24
