In case you missed it, last night Britney Spears made her debut as a judge on The X Factor, and word is that she was a ‘loony.’ Weirdly, that word came from her boss, Simon Cowell.

Speaking to the amazing Jimmy Kimmel, Cowell admited that he likes ‘loonies’ because he considers himself one.

Naturally, it’s hard to say how much of that is an accurate assessment and how much of it is trying to get laughs on a couch, but from what I saw I’d say that Brit is maybe a little flighty, but not full-on loony. She seemed to be giving lucid opinions, she just marches to her own drum.

Simon had less to say about Demi Lovato, but that might have been because she wasn’t on the show with them.

Realistically, from what I saw last night, it looked like Simon basically split Paula Abdul into the “flighty” side and the “bickery side” and assigned one personality to each of the new ladies on his show.

Like they say, if it ain’t broke…. see if you can get two different people to do it cheaper.
