A Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event will be held this Saturday September 29th from 8am to 2pm and is open to all McLean County residents. Proper disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste is required to keep our water supply and environment safe and clean.
It has been five years since the last HHW Collection Event which drew over 2,000 households with 18,000 gallons of hazardous material collected. The Ecology Action Center gets calls on a daily basis from residents wanting to safely dispose of their HHW (Household Hazardous Waste). State funding is not available to these kind of events in McLean County. The
Ecology Action Center is spearheading this HHW Collection Event, and if we don't support it with our funds and our waste, it may never happen in our area again.
