I just had the opportunity to test drive a great new advancement in vehicle technology, a 2014 Acura RLX from Bob Lindsay  Acura of Peoria.  Not a 30 minute drive around the block with a few minutes on the highway then back to the dealership type of test drive, but two days of driving this car while going about my normal life routine. 

Let me tell you, I didn't know what I was missing until I met this car.

One of my favorite things on the car is the extremely cool looking and bright headlamps. They made my 4:45am drive to work soooo much better. It was like adding daylight to a dark horizon without having to use the high beams. The bunnies, fox and deer in my neighborhood that normally say "howdy" during my morning commute saw me coming a mile away and for once all stayed patiently on their side of the road.

The Acura RLX  is 310 horsepower in a direct injection V-6 engine with front wheel drive that wants to "get up and go" like nothing I have ever experienced.  It has low speed maneuvering that makes the car turn tight and I finally understand what  “corners well” means. I couldn't wait to get on and off highway ramps because of the way this vehicle responds. It was FUN to drive!

• Two screens:  One for navigation and the other screen for everything else like climate controls and sound. There are almost too many ways for you to customize your driving experience.
   
• Lane Departure warnings: It alerts you if you are trying to change lanes, but a car is in your blind spot.
   
• Does your car know when you want in it? This one has a keyless access system. It knows when you are close to your car without even touching your key. It senses the key in your pocket or purse and will light up. Then, it will unlock your door for you as you reach for the door handle. You don’t even have to put it in the ignition just push the start button!
