Kelli O’Hara and Ken Watanabe from THE KING AND I/ CBS YOU TUBE
Since the hugh thunderstorm was making my television reception of the annual Tony awards broadcast very sporadic, I thought we better review the big winners of last night’s show.
Fun Home and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time were the biggest winners at last night’s 69th Annual Tony Awards, where both productions took home five awards each–including the statues for Best Musical and Best Play, respectively.

Meanwhile, the revival of The King and I walked away with four wins–including those for Best Revival of a Musical and Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for Kelli O’Hara.

And An American in Paris also took home four awards, including Best Lighting Design of a Musical and Best Choreography. Other highlights included the musical opening by hosts Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming and a hilarious exchange between presenters Larry David and Jason Alexander.
