The 5 Bands You MUST See Day1 @ Lollapalooza

These situations can be a little overwhelming, I get it. I want to extend my olive branch and help those discover some new music outside of the WBNQ brand; because at the the end of the day, that’s why I go to these things.

Hi
I’m John Davies of WBNQ
Let’s check out Day1 of Lollapalooza.

I’m all about getting into the vibe before it all starts, find the playlist (someone puts hours into making, no matter the festival) and get your jam on. Just enjoy yourself folks.

It’s going to be a marathon of a day, of a weekend, get use to being tired now. Make sure you’re wearing plenty of sunscreen, as I’m sure we’re going to disappoint our mothers multiple times over the weekend, no need to add skin cancer to the mix. You’re dressed head to toe in the latest trends, you have your refillable water bottle, cash, fanny pack, friends, now all we need are the tunes.

Here are the 5 acts you can’t miss Day1:

….. I tried to give ya a little bit of everything

Max Frost

Festivals can make for very long days, one pro tip for ya, make sure the first artist you see for the day is a good one. This will set the mood for the rest of the day. No better vibe than to start off with a “Good Morning”!

Hobo Johnson & The Love Makers

If you haven’t seen the “Tiny Desk Concert” submission that catapulted them into everyone’s radar, check that out here, and because of it i’ll never think about peach scones the same ever again.
They just dropped their first full album. It’s sad, it’s angry, it’s very 2019…if you don’t pick that up by their video. #Emotions

Emily King

“It’s like Freddie Mercury and Panic at the Disco’s second alum had a baby and they only did unplugged albums”
-Me
This one‘s great too!
She should also only play Sunday afternoon sets, great “driving music” from Emily!

Rüfüs Du Sol

It’s not a festival without BASS. Chainsmokers will be closing out the night, and this is the perfect baby step into that party. These guys are great about keeping it chill, but also know what it means to headline a festival.

The Strokes

Am I showing my age? You know about The Strokes right!@#?

I have to say these types of things as I got into a conversation with my 24 year old sister who had no idea why they’d make these guys headliners!
WHAT?!
I’m disappointed in myself for not being a better older brother.
Be better, go see The Strokes.
