Family in Australia Spends $300 to Have Tumor Removed From Pet Koi Fish

A family in Australia paid $30 for their family pet, “Bubbles” the koi fish. “Bubbles” developed a dangerous tumor that cost the family $300 to remove.

The 10-minute procedure will hopefully extend Bubbles life for 35 years. Bubbles has been in the family for five years. The doctor who performed the surgery said she does this surgery a couple times a year.

So how do you perform surgery on a fish? They anesthetized it in water then removed it from the tank for the quick procedure as sterile water ran through its gills.
