Boy, 8, Raises More Than $50K to Help Homeless Veterans

An 8 year old Maryland boy has raised over $50,000 for homeless veterans over the last four years. Yes, he has been raising money since he was 4 years old. It all started when his mom was showing him videos about veterans to teach him about what some of his relatives who enlisted in the military had done. They came across some videos of homeless veterans and he could not understand why heroes were homeless. He wanted to build homes for the vets. His mom reached out to the governor of Maryland, Larry Hogan, who gave him a $100 grant, He took the grant money and turned it into “Hero Bags.” The bags are given out to homeless veterans and include clothes, bath products, food and bedding.
