Apple is said to be investigating a massive fraud scheme that allegedly sold iPhones cobbled together from rejected parts.

Taiwan News reports employees of Foxconn and a businessman in that country conspired to build the phones in China and sell them to unsuspecting buyers.

The scam netted $43 million (US) over three years. The rejected parts should have been destroyed but the Foxconn team responsible instead reportedly sold them to a crime syndicate.
