Young Adults Most-Infected Age Group Over The Summer

Young adults made up the bulk of coronavirus infections over the summer months, according to the CDC.

People between the ages of 20-29 accounted for more than 20% of coronavirus cases in June and nearly 1 in 4 cases in July – quite a jump from May, when the median age for infected people was 46.

The CDC says it shows that young adults “likely contributed to community transmission of COVID-19”.

So far more than 6.9 million cases have been recorded in the U.S. with over 202,000 deaths.
