Lady Gaga Confirms Starring Role In ‘Joker’ Sequel

Lady Gaga recently posted a musical teaser clip on social media confirming her starring role in the upcoming film Joker: Folie à Deux, a sequel to the 2019 film Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix.

The clip features silhouettes of Phoenix and Gaga’s yet-to-be-announced character dancing together to “Cheek to Cheek,” a song Gaga has famously covered alongside Tony Bennett.

It is speculated that Gaga will be transforming into Harley Quinn, the romantic counterpart to the Joker, in the movie, which is scheduled to arrive on October 4, 2024.

Todd Phillips, the director of the movie, revealed only the title of the movie in June alongside an image of Phoenix going through the script.

Joker was nominated for the 2020 Academy Award for Best Picture, and Phoenix won Best Actor for his portrayal of Arthur Fleck (aka Joker).

The film’s composer, Hildur Guðnadóttir, won several awards for her score, notably winning the Oscar and the Golden Globe for Best Original Score as well as the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.
