Enjoy The Music From ALWAYS BE MY MAYBE Movie Right Here

If there is just one Original Netflix movie you need to watch this summer, it is “ALWAYS BE MY MAYBE“, starring Ali Wong and Randall Park.  I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed this film!

Everyone assumed Sasha and Marcus would wind up together except for Sasha and Marcus. Reconnecting after 15 years, the two start to wonder… maybe?

Now there are A LOT of conversations about this film, and how is breaks down Asian stereotypes, and also how it is filled with smart references to being an Asian American in 2019, but what I can’t get past is how catchy the music from fictional band HELLO PERIL is. Good news! You can stream it on YouTube!

From HuffingtonPost.com:

Randall Park, who plays frontman Marcus in the movie, co-wrote the songs with hip-hop producer Dan the Automator. The actor actually has some cred when it comes to songwriting. Back in the day, he was in a real-life rap group called Ill Again and co-star Ali Wong would frequent his shows.

And while “I Punched Keanu Reeves” seems like a bold move ― poking fun at Reeves, who’s actually in the movie ― Park told Pitchfork that the actor was totally game for the track.

“I sent him an email with some of the lyrics and asked if it would be OK, and he was totally down. He even gave some suggestions,” Park said.

Seriously, this film deserves your attention. And if you find yourself singing along to “Tennis Ball”, I am with you.
