APPLE TV Announcement Caused DISNEY & NETFLIX Stocks To Drop

Apple TV

Lots of competition coming this fall for your streaming dollars. APPLE entering the competition is a big deal.

APPLE announced Tuesday its TV+ original video subscription service will launch Nov. 1 for $4.99 a month. That’s less than Disney+ streaming service for $6.99 a month and Netflix’s entry-level subscription price of $8.99 a month in the U.S. Netflix and Disney shares fell after the announcement, while Apple stock climbed.

We got our first peak at Apple’s TV+ service in March with Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Aniston and other stars in original exclusive content. Apple won’t have a large back catalog as their competitors have, and instead focus on original movies and TV shows. Still, some analysts have suggested Apple TV+ could top 100 million subscribers in the next 5 years, which would make it comparable to Netflix and Amazon.

The service will be available in the TV app that is conveniently pre-installed on your iPhones, iPads, iPod touches, Apple TVs!. Apple TV Channels service will integrate, which will also let users subscribe to other providers like HBO, STARZ, and Showtime individually.
