There isn’t much wiggle room on successful fried chicken. It is either amazing or awful. I have yet to find a place that makes fried chicken as good as THE GRAND HOTEL on Emerson(which closed in the early 2000’s), so I keep making my own. I love bone in, homemade fried chicken, and always found it to be the hardest and messiest thing to come through my kitchen. Usually I oven bake my chicken with crispy coating made of rolled rice crispies instead of dredging in flour and oil frying, but after watching this trending video, I may become a deep fryers chef soon!
From Epicurious:
We challenged chefs of three different levels – an amateur, a home cook and a professional chef – to make their versions of fried chicken. And then we brought in a food scientist to review their work. Which fried chicken was the best?
Happy Picnicking!
