Apple Will Now Allow Independent Shops to Service Out-of-Warranty iPhones

Apple is now allowing independent repair shops to officially service any of the out-of-warranty iPhones that you have, giving the shops the same genuine parts, tools and manuals that authorized shops have to fix your phone if it’s on the fritz.

Apple’s CEO said, “When a repair is needed, a customer should have confidence that the repair is done right.”  He promises that the parts given to independents will be properly engineered and rigorously tested.

The news comes as Apple is defending it’s controversial battery standards where an Apple user can’t check a new battery for health if it doesn’t come from an authorized Apple seller.
