Is The ‘Winter Surge’ Over?  Coronavirus Cases, Deaths Drop Across U.S.

While the coronavirus pandemic is still raging, Americans are starting to see some positive signs that the worst could be over.

Average daily coronavirus cases and deaths have been dropping over the last two weeks – from an average of 250,000 daily cases on Jan. 11th to the current average of 170,000.  Deaths have dropped from a 3,350 per day down to 3,100 over the same stretch.

However, those numbers are still high, and the clock is now ticking as newer, more contagious strains of coronavirus begin to emerge.
