Will Gomez’s new cooking skills work in a restaurant environment?

It was announced today by The Food Network that the Only Murders in the Building actress will star in a new show called Selena + Restaurant, which is actually a spinoff of her show, Selena + Chef.

May 2nd is date for the first two episodes. Gomez will be exploring the L.A. food scene with her best friend, Raquelle Stevens, who we got to know on Selena + Chef. 

According to a release, the “ultimate goal” will be for Gomez to create a dish “good enough to make each restaurant’s menu.”

“After cooking mostly virtually from my kitchen with some of the best chefs for the last four years, I was thrilled to step into their world,” Gomez said in a release. “You’ll have to see if being in person helped my skills at all.”

Some of the featured chefs include Shirley Chung, Keith Corbin, Stephanie Izard, Andrew and Michelle Muñoz, Wolfgang Puck and Marcel Vigneron. Once again,  the chefs will choose a charity to highlight and receive a donation from the show. Awwwww, I always liked that part.

Selena + Chef premieres May 2 on the Food Network and will stream on Max.
