I will never need a reason to own a dog because I always will, but this is a pretty good reason to start if you don’t already.
The special bond between humans and dogs helps people live longer, and science proves it, and boy did they do their research. The review of the health benefits of man’s best friend involved nearly 4 million people in the United States, Canada, Scandinavia, New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. Over 70 years of global research has found that owning a dog is the best thing you can do to live a longer life and that there is a 24 percent drop in mortality for people who have a dog in their life.
We’ve heard this statement alot over the years because people who own dogs generally exercise more than non dog owners, just by walking their dogs 30 minutes a day. That’s not all. Petting a dog reduces your blood pressure, and many dog owners have better cholesterol levels than non dog owners.
So, if you’ve been trying to talk your husband into letting you and the kids get a dog, tell him you will all live longer, and science proves that. Maybe he will finally say yes!
