3rd Annual Breast in Show Bra Auction is back!
Ft. Jesse Imaging and Gale Keeran Center for Women’s Breast in Show Bra Auction is back! This year, 40 beautifully decorated bras to honor breast cancer and promote breast cancer awareness hang in the cozy women’s waiting room, where women wait to get their mammogram or breast ultrasound. All bras will be auctioned off October 3rd– October 21st on Facebook and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Pink Partners of the Community Cancer Center, allowing more women in McLean County to get their annual screening mammogram and receive education on breast health.
Last year, 2015, Gale Keeran Center for Women was able to raise just over $1000 for Pink Partners! Of course, the goal this year would be to exceed that. Several local physicians’ offices and business decorate the bras to be auctioned off.
The purpose of Breast in Show is not only to promote Breast Cancer Awareness month and to raise money for Pink Partners, but an outlet to some decorators to honor or remember loved ones. For example, CB Hair Design created their bra in remembrance of a close friend. Gold’s Gym’s “Fit Fam” decorated their bra to support one of their trainers going through treatment. It’s a reminder to women to take time for themselves, have their annual screening and do all they can to stay in good health.
